A boreal galaxy in miniature. Lichens are a symbiotic partnership of two separate organisms, a fungus and an alga. Perhaps we humans can learn something from lichen. This tiny scene was discovered on a red pine tree near Springdale Creek. Looking closer at nature with a macro lens nearly always provides a surprising perspective.
